Novel Projects

Whether from NaNoWriMo, short story prompts, or other motivation these featured novel projects were written for an audience to read. Unfortunately, most of these are unfinished or unedited. Please keep this in mind when reading.

The Fairway Killer (2017) (NaNoWriMo)
The Fairway Killer is a mystery novel set in London in the 1890's. It follows Finnegan Regis, a 29 year old detective part of a secret group used to solve complex murders (like an FBI). Despite their secrecy, a killer has discovered their existence, and Finnegan has to figure out who is killing the members of the team before the knife is at his throat. This was a project for NaNoWriMo, and I worked on it from mid-October to mid-November before stopping. This story won a silver key at the Scholastic's Art and Writing Awards in the Novel Writing category. Below is the entire, unedited, unfinished piece.

Aegis (2017)
Aegis is the story of a group of child prodigies sent into space on an expedition to neutralize a black hole headed towards Vega, the current intergalactic hub. Aegis won a silver key at the Scholastic's Art and Writing Awards in the Science Fiction and Fantasy category, but remains an unfinished novel project. The original concept was first developed in Sci-fi WT, and this version keeps the original plot and characters. The full unedited piece is below, notes page intact.

Sci-fi WT (2017)
I got into the habit of never titling my works until they were completed since it helps me prioritize, thus this project was never titled since it wasn't finished. I scrapped this project for a rewrite where I prioritized the space opera narrative. In this original version I took 3 of my science fiction universes I'd been developing: one featuring Micah and Bot set in the '80s, one about Amari (I repurposed this name several times for several unfinished projects) and the end of life on Earth, and one about a group of children sent on a lifelong journey to destroy a black hole. This story would have followed 3 narrative paths: the politics surrounding Earth after global warming made it "inhospitable", the plot to recover Amari's journal, the only proof that Earth was still fine to live on, and the opinions of child prodigies who couldn't affect change back home. I still think all these plots have merit and would love to further develop and use them, but I might not be a skilled enough writer to do this story justice yet. The entire, unedited story exploration is below.

Hiding in the Dark Room (2012-13)
Hiding in the Dark Room was a novel project done in 6th grade, and was the first project of any quality to reach completion. Previous works like 2011's Novice NaNoWriMo project and 100 Ways to Die were both much shorter (20-50 pages) compared to HITDR. This novel is unedited and has been untouched since it was written, thus there are many spelling, grammar, and continuity issues within it. Below is a copy of the first chapter.
